Justin Yoffe received his B.F.A. and M.F.A. (’89,’90) from New York University where he majored in dramatic writing at the Tisch School of the Arts. As a screenwriter he was represented by ICM for 9 years and sold and optioned several screenplays and treatments and hired as a script doctor for various studios and independent production companies. As a playwright he has had several plays produced in Los Angeles as well as New York and Boston. He has also worked as a professional ghost-writer and novelist and is currently finishing his 3rd book for hire. As a professional theater director he has worked primarily in Los Angeles for the last 10 years helming over 15 productions. As a producer he has worked in theater on both coasts and won an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming” in 2005 for a teen talent showcase called “Downbeat 720”.


Currently Mr. Yoffe serves as Cultural Affairs Supervisor for the City of Santa Monica and the Director of the Miles Memorial Playhouse, a 150 seat historical theater in Santa Monica. He is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Venice Theater Works a 501c3 non-profit theater company established in 1997. Mr. Yoffe is also the proud President of the Electric Lodge Visual and Performing Arts Center in Venice, CA., one of the first solar-powered theaters in the country. Along with Dr. Joel Shapiro, Founder and Artistic Director of the Electric Lodge, Mr. Yoffe created the “Arts:Earth Partnership Green Certification Program” for art galleries, dance studios and theaters which will be piloted throughout Los Angeles in the Spring ’08 in partnership with the City of Los Angeles.
